    Starting to get some parts together now for the 120r crate motor that I was going to fit and not touch

    I am still waiting on my domed CP pistons from GMR and the Tman 662-2 cams are in the post

    Got S&S lifters with travel limiters

    SE cam plate

    Zippers dual piston cam chain tentioners

    and the required gaskets

    I'm running my CP slugs tight at 2.5 thou clearance with no problems. No rattle on a cold engine starts. Give Steve a call on what he runs on his builds.

     hey Ando just curious why you never went the the sprocket drive cams instead of cam chains??

    I got the 2011 120R that didn't come with the SE cam plate but the SE compensator, 2012 120R's come with the cam plate and not the Compensator

    I have .030" cometic Head gaskets coming to use instead of the SE 0.040" Head gaskets as well

    Ando, you probably already know, but just be aware you may have to vary your base gaskets to set your deck height close to zero.
    I ended up with a .010 and a .020 gasket to get to - .002 thou' deck with the CP pistons.
    Not sure what thickness the HD gaskets are ?

    yeh I have .020" base gasket, my pistons will have a 5.5 dome so I would expect them to be a wee bit high than the deck

    Even with the dome, you still need to know your deck height to set your quench. Makes it harder to measure with a dome in the way though !

    Funny you say Hogbag got some more bits yesterday so with some nice wether today I might get a ride in change then syn oil to some mineral with new filter ready to start stripping down during the week and get the barrels over for re-bore whilst I up at work next swing

    New ne CP pistons even have GMR written into their tops

    Some AV&V Beehive springs

    It's good they have coated skirts. I think it's worthwhile.
    It's funny, I caught the reflection of the HQ symbol on the piston through the spark plug hole, and thought WTF is sitting on the piston!! DUH !

    This build should rip your arms out when she's buttoned up. Keep the photo's coming mate as my misses stopped me spending money on bike porn after the 3rd HP/Torque rebuild.

    went for a aride with norm and BT yesterday come home and dropped the syn oil put in fresh mineral oil (using the scavanger puck) and had the sled stripped down by dinner time

    Barrels are getting machined, heads are getting cleaned up and having new valves stems seals and beehive springs fitted all other bits have been cleaned and are ready for when barrels and heads are done

    soaked the SE pistons in some mean green degreaser for a coupla days,,,,,,,,,,, BTW these SE pistons are a nice bit of kit

    ill give ya 40k on the motor ando b4 ya need to pull her back down to sort the crank man lol those cams slugs ect an abot of heavy throttle mmmmmmmm doin a 120 in 4weeks for bloke will try find camera he ran with chain cams an chain snapped an a bigggggggg ouch now oh well live n learn as ya know im a firm believer in true n weld ect as ive donr to deadwoods an heap of others chocos just to name a few
    hope it does stay close to the mark but i wouldnt put money on it either way .be good to see wat ya times over the 1/4 are too
