I am making plans to get my 120r crate motor installed in my 07 Softail standard. Does anyone know the best place to get it happening? Two Harley shops told me it will take 24 hours and the other 8 hours...
I have read i should change the lifters. Is there anything else that i should cover? Also the bike has done 60,000 Ks, should i buy a stronger gearbox and what brand. Thanks for any replies.
as per ando ,also fit a S/E clutch is good enough we drag race on them & never a prob. whats wrong with the s/e lifters ? i took a 120R Dyna W/Glide too 10.22 sec 1/4 mile e.t. @ 132.6 mph last weekend on stock tyres 149hp = 133.5 torque
is that lifter prob on the JIMS 120R motor ? , as on the 120R we race it is a S/E kit only crank & barrels cnc heads etc into a stock Harley motor , but the new one we are building is the Harley S/E case's crank /barrels kit from the parts cattledog this will be the one i will be racing the good thing i get to port & polish & set her-up & run her in on the street for 2,000 klms before i race her
to Carbon Fibre Ques , all stock Harley but she has the S/E cattledog 12 to1 comp pistons + 267 = 660" lift cams + i ported & polish & set-her-up , i can put up her dyno chart if you like
