What are peoples experiences with QBE?

I ask this because i am wondering if they treat all harley owners as poorly as i have been?

Would anyone on this forum accept a repair where the colours don't match? Would anyone even think that an insurance company would have the balls to think that a customer would accept that?

The situation is that i had some paint damage on a 2 year old Harley Davidson Softail Crossbones when riding down to Phillip island 18 months ago. When i got back i put a claim in and the bike was repaired at the Brisbane Harley dealership ( not mentioning any names but they also sell BMW's). the rear guard was replaced with a factory painted guard but the denim black paint didn't match, not even close. I gave the service manager several chances to get it right over the next 15 months only to be told that i should complain to QBE and see what they can do.

I made the complaint and 2 weeks later they tried to tell me that because they used a factory painted guard that the colour difference is not their problem. My response was that i paide the premium, i paid the excess so i have fullfilled my side of the contract and where they get the parts from is not my problem but the bike must be repaired properly.

Has anyone had a similar problem with QBE insurance, i have not made a claim for 15 years so i have no recent experience.

Worst insurer I've ever been with personally. I also used to work for them until a couple of years ago, so I got a 30% discount on my policy. Had to make a claim on my car. Chose my repairer. They denied it, despite choice of repairer being in my policy. Had to go one of their preferred repairers. Went back twice more after repair to get it re-repaired because if the crap job they did on the paint.

Needless to say once I left and lost my discount, I immediately switched insurers.

    welcome to the forum
lets see denim black is advised by the MoCo as not being likely to be matchable in a single part. they are match selected as sets from a large run at manufacturing time.
You seem to have claimed for paint work to a single panel.
M W replaced the panel as they know they cannot get a painter to match it.
it is a fault with the idea of having denim black, looks great but a bitch to look after and almost impossible to match
no I wouldn't be happy about it but thats the world we live in

my only dealings with QBE are good price and inclusions are great

I am with QBE and had a claim.  They let me choose the repairer and chased them for me when they were slow doing the repiar.

No connection but a satisfied customer - and for me they were the cheapest too.

2 claims with QBE over last few years. Excellent to deal with on both occasions. Premium hardly went up at all. No issues here.....

wouldn't paint because of the factory pinstripping, crossbaones were only brought into Aus for 2 years so i would like to keep it as original as possible.

I haven't had any experience with them but just got a quote for a new bike I am getting and they blew the others (insuremyride & nrma) out of the water...

Sorry for your experience with them but I am glad others have been treated better as I just insured mine with QBE.
Everything else I have is with Shannons.
