Been lurking in the shadows for a while gathering plenty of useful information from the forum while considering a new Harley.
Last bike was a new Fatboy back in 2000 which lasted for 4 years - kids came along , wife started chewing me arse about the bike etc etc..... anyway goodbye 1 x Fatboy......
Well 8 years later - Goodbye wife...... Hello new Heritage Softail....
Look forward to enjoying the bike and learning from the experience and knowledge base within this great forum.
Cheers Dodger.
welcome
Thank you all.
Welcome mate and enjoy the new ride.I would love to tell ya the wife would go before the bike in this house but she may read this.
I used to have a line that I trotted out now and again that went something like:
'You married me because you loved me and you want me to be happy. You know that motorcycles make me happy. If you want me to sell my motorcycle/give up riding that means you don't want me to be happy any more and that means you don't love me. So, if you ask me to sell my motorcycle I will have no choice but divorce you on the grounds that you don't love me any more'.
That one worked for years, but eventually it was taken for a joke and not as a philosophy for life.
My new wife enjoys motorbikes almost as much as I do, and actually hassled me into buying a Road King.
Honest, I bought it just to make her happy.
She let me get the Sprint because fixing up a cute old bike makes me happy.
I asked her the other day about selling the Aprilia. She said 'no', as she wants to keep it for warm summer days in the mountains.
As I remind her from time to time, she is the woman I was meant to marry.
Welcome Dodger .
Well at least HARLEYS ARE FOREVER .
Thanks for the welcoming responses guys - most appreciated.
