Here's a strange one for you, After riding my '10 Iron for more than an hour the neutral light stops working, once the bike has cooled down then  it works again....

It not massive deal but am worried that it might be the start of something bigger

    Any thoughts?

    cheers
    Thad

Hmm... I am no expert here but it would sound like the sender is fubar. As in... once it heats up it fails to send the correct signal to the ECU that you are in Neutral.

Couldn't too much oil in the gearbox do it too? I know it can make neutral hard to impossible to find...so I'm guessing that would mess with the light too? Oil cools, it settles...light works.

Hmm.. He didn't mention he could not find Neutral. But might be worth a look.

    Thx Bonkerz,

Have no trouble finding neutral and checked the oil after my last ride and it was a little low so don't think that is the issue,

will keep my eye on it though

    cheers

A guy at work used to get gremlins in his wiring on British bikes..always after an hour or so, once things 'heated up'. He said that after months of tearing his hair out, someone sorted his problems out with his wiring for him. Said that it was purely electrical. Nothing mechanical. Said that many electrical problems show themselves under heat.

Me, I know nothing. Just passing on what he said about a completely unrelated bike.
