Evo motor firing on one cylinder.

I have 1993 Electra glide ultra classic, was running fine yesterday . I installed new rocker gaskets to the front cylinder this morning as it was weeping oil from the rocker cover base gasket. After installing the gaskets I was going to take it for a test drive, but when I fired her up it was only firing on the rear cylinder. I have checked the spark and timing and all is good, I don't know what else would be stopping it from firing on the fron cylinder.

I didn't remove the heads just the rocker box, tighten up to the specified tongue settings. Unfortunately I don't have a compression tester. I was thinking I may have stuck valve or bent pushrods, but there is sign of firing in that cylinder at all which has me stuffed as there should be a misfire or backfiring.

First thing I did was try new spark plugs, thanks anyway.

That is what has got me stuffed, spark is good. I am going to buy compression tester tomorrow and check compression as I just turned it over by hand checking valve operation compared to the rear cylinder and there seems to be no difference.

I replaced the bottom metal one as this was weeping a lot.

if they a stock pushrods i hope you put the longer one in the exh side & the shorter in the inlet  & waited for the pushrods the be able to spin before you turned the crank over , ( let the hyd bleed off )  +  check the wiring & stick in  new spark plugs

It has after market pushrods not sure what brand as I picked the bike up second hand 4 months ago. I did the rocker gaskets the night before finished 10 pm and fired it the following morning at 10 am. Its going to be a pain in the butt to adjust the pushrods as I have to remove the supercharger to get to them.

When you started the job, did you have the cylinder you were working on at TDC firing? Also did you wait till the lifters bled down before rotating the engine at any time? If not or you are not sure, it is most likely to be a damaged valve train component presuming all parts are installed in their correct order, speification and location .If you do not have access to a compression or leak down tester ground both plug leads and place your thumb hard over the plug bore and crank the engine ,if it blows your thumb off their should be enough pressure to start the engine .In my workshop strip and inspect for damage would be the preferred course to follow ,as they say “a short cut is potentially the fastest route to a long job”

if ya got after market pushrods wether or not you take them out they will need to be reset again
standard rods have colour on em frome rear to front is purple brown yellow green
easy to remember is PLEASE BRING YOUR GUN

if adjustables take plugs out take cover of rods an hold up with a clothes peg turn motor slowly tpo find lowest point on cam lobe an undo nuts(locking) shorten rod an let sit for 10 mins then open rod till slck has gone .then mark the flat on bottm nut and open 3 full turns then let sit for 10 mins should be able to turn with a bit force holdin back on ya fingers nip up lock nut an do same again on other rod
had a bike few weeks ago thee shop done an was not down 3 turns had it down 5 an was riding so be carefull if ya need instructions just google evo adjustable rods an youll find heaps
3 turns covers just about all adjustaqble ones for evos an twinkies
