     Hello All,

So I am about to pull the trigger on a set of cams and wil most likely go with the T555 Torqsters,  (Unless someone can convince me otherwise)

But what I am after is a complete bill of materials.  I don't want to get half way through and realise I don't have something.  I will probably go with adjustable push rods too.

    Can someone assist here?

    Cheers

    Mongrel

you will need a cam gear locking tool to lock the gears up to remove the bolts, oil pump alignment tools, assembly lube, need to make sure you have some new exhaust gaskets, ensure your pushrods come with tubes that make adjustment easier normal tubes is a pain in the ass and consider changing the inner cam bearings whilst your in there will need bearing puller and installer to do this (isn't 100% nessacery but good to do whilst in the cam chest)

whilst you have your rockers off drill the oil return holes out to 1/8" or 3mm

and if you pm me your email adress I will send you some useful info

     Ok... so far we have...

    T555 Torqster Cams
    Adjustable Pushrods and new Tubes
    Cam gear locking tool
    Assembly lube
    Exhaust gaskets
Inner Cam Bearings (Maybe - Bike has only done about 8000k) - Bearing Puller if changing.

Ando - Can you please explain what you mean by oil pump alignment tools?

    Anything else?

    Cheers

Just for interest sake I put some Redshift 575 cams in a mates 103 softail on the weekend, I had manely valves with a 1.9 intake fitted, decked heads to 82cc and decomps drilled ( no port work)

with the head work (including buying secondhand heads) picking up the cams secondhand, adjustable pushrods, gaskets and us doing the build took us about 6hrs this build cost under $1500

it was dynoed today and made 109 torque and 97hp this is on a conservative dyno using the powervison This is pretty close if not on par to some of the $5000 stage IV kits

I road this thing without the tune and it is a tyre shredder. this is just the sort of thing that can be done with out spending big money and my mate absolutley loves the ride and enjoyed doing the work

    Hey Ando,

So I got a quote from the Tman and I am looking at nearly $700 for the bits I need delivered.

I got a better price from Rollies for a similar kit using Andrews cams. Now I know there was a new Andrews released that was similar - Can anyone give me some info on these? The price is good from Rollies. :)

    Cheers

Mongrel $700 for all the stuff you need delivered is a good price.

In my opinion as a bolt in cam you won't get much better than that Tman 555

Don't forget to add new set of B-lifters when you order your parts.

B lifters are like rocking horse shit

A damn shame they had to go cheap on the "C"s
Got my fingers crossed the cheapo travel limited 875's do the job with the woods TW8 in my new 113.
That is if I ever get the two SE Adj' exhaust pushrods I got dud'ed on !!

Ok... Now that you pirates are done with hijacking my thread, I am closer to making a decision. :)

Looks like I have it down to 2 cams. The SE204 and the Andrews 54h with a .30 gasket.

    Decisions decisions. :)

I'd steer clear of the 54 with stock compression. Look at the andrews 57 .

the reason i would go S&S easy starts is. i run hi comp with just a 95 inch twin cam & use SE decomp valves & still kill a starter clutch every year or so, the easy starts bleed off a lot more cranking pressure so you can tune a motor to really perform ( thats if you want to )

was talking to daddyracer the other day he said the Frazers new WideGlide with 120R is real nice to ride he loves it & does 10.1 132mph thats in standing quarter, it looks good too just foot shift no magic, i think he said 144HP 134TQ & its heavy. so it's possible these days to get more than you could ever use on the road down at the HD dealer. just probably costs about as much as the horses Bart sell's.

I ran the 54H for a couple years before swapping to the 5-6 and was very happy with them. I would consider a +4 timing kog to bump the stock compression until you fit 95 or 98 slugs. The 54 likes around 10.1 comp but still pulls hard from 2600 RPM with lower comp. I still have the 54H cams in the shed as I just cant let them go. Maybe one day I will run them again.

    Quick question lads,

If I am going to pull the heads to do the gaskets, can I use the stock push rods with the 57h Andrew's cam?
