I've had to temporarily remove the chat module as it was causing the site to slow down.  And as the "Who's Online" module is made by the same vendor I've restricted that to registered users.  I'll look into getting another chat module shortly.

Unfortunately I've had to remove the "Who's Online" module as well because it was still causing problems. I will find a solution shortly.

I tell you what, I've worked with them all my life and I'm truly sick of them, but what do you do, there's no going back to the carrier pigeon now.

I did notice that the site locked up on me more often when they were up. As much as I liked seeing who was on-line and the chat forum.

Cool. I like the chat portion. I tried to talk the owner of the site I help moderate to do the chat thing but he's a little leary about it. He keeps saying he wants to wait till we have more members.
Don't know how many he is waiting for because we now have over 2000 members now and were just over a year old.

Yes it's a good feature you've just got to find the right module. I'm testing one tonight which sounds good. I'll keep people posted.

Yep, they definately didn' help on older computers.

I thought here we go again not another CTD (computer transmitted disease) it was running that slow.
