Chriso
Thanks for all that info, and I have also now ordered a set of intiminators will do that step first and then the rear a little later, was wondering what weight oil you dropped into the folks?
Ozymax
Trust all goes very well mate, and take good care
Both you guys are tops with all the good oil so to speak, Don
My intiminators arrived this morning, they are installed and I have been for a spin - Wow. Chalk & cheese difference, now I can just focus on riding the thing and I dont have to be watching so intensly for every little woop de do. Good dollars spent, used Motul 10w, 750 mls per leg (and thats what came out of each as well). Absolutly the best attack is to use a bike lift & remove the legs from the bike, it aint that many bolts. Then with each leg clamped & held with a vice (an old stubby holder to wrap and protect works well), the way I got the caps back down was to use a piece of timber as a lever & a ratchet strap adjusted to facilitate as the fulcrum. Hope that all makes sense Don
I know its has all been said before, but as I have used lots of the top info that you bloke kindly give I reckon I should also say.
One of the best things I have done so far is to bolt on a stabiliser kit (i used True Track only because was very easy to order on line). I just went for a 200k spin to see what was the difference, and all I can say is what a bloody difference!!
I did previously aso put in the intiminators and thought that was good, but after a while I still felt the bike was sort of mushy on corners, but not now . . . it simply holds the line you set. I also used to think that it felt a bit like the steering head might need tightening, but since the stabiliser is on all of those feelings have gone.
Not a difficult job to install, but you do need to just take your time and you are best to have a helper on hand to do the rear one. the instruction sheet that Chriso put on here is also heaps better than the instruction sheet that came with the kit.
