Which tuning modules are locked in to the bike (or more correctly the bike's ecu)?

fatbat , at 2007 , you could buy an original SERT brand new and unused off US EBay . Well cheap now, and good to work with too

OR you could get a TTS ( who made the original SERT anyways !!) Same ease of use ! But dearer to you.

If you do go TTS then Kuryakyn have a range of custom tuned TTS Calibrations for HEAPS of engine and pipe combos.

From this link use the drop down menu to see Calibration for various builds/combos for all models

    To Gonads

The guy has a 2007 Softail , so can go with stuff available right now

Several sources in the USA no worries

TTS currently will do up to 2010 Softails, and up to 2011 Dynas / Tourers / Sportsters / V-Rods

Quite a few suppliers running low. Online most are listed as low or no stock. May be some independant tuners with some stock but not to many offering them even on the US forums.

That also begs the question as to why would you buy a "run out" old model when the new unit, that sounds like it will be a lot better, more user friendly and basically the same price, will be available soonish and will be backwards compatable? Not a hard decision for me to make if I was dead set on the TTS. Might be a bit different if the old version was on clearance pricing to off load it.

My opinion only and as we all know they are like assholes.

The new TTS unit is in field Beta test with selected installing dealers at this time. As soon as that's over we will begin shipping the new units out the door. Should not be long now.

i have the tmax fitted it my self never had a issue runs like a dream ......

got a mate who installs computors to bike tunes and dyno's them road my bike and he was blowen away by how good it went .....

the trick with the tmax is to put in base requirments exhaust intake cams and cubic displacement .......then ride it normal like a human would

them stick it on the computor and see what it sez ...... next ride it like ya stole the fucker ride it hard ..... i'm lucky i live with both a freeway and and good bit of twisty rd

you need to ride it at diferent throttle positions and loads after that you will love it ....

scared the crap outa me when i did my usual thing leaveing the pub after two lemonades out of the pub first roundabout give it a fist full and the basterd steped out on me

love the tmax and will purchase for next bike i get to

fitted a new TMAX in 2008 to my 2006 streetbob, big improvment in power, loved it,, in 2010 in started acting funny like. speedo stopped working , then started working again, stopped again,, bike wouldnt start unless you pulled the main fuse then reinstalled it, then did the 3 on-off things to set the throttle bit,,was 300km from home it ran like a dog all the way, lucky to get here, it ran badly, emailed tmax in the states got no where,,phoned them up, bloke was kind of friendly, ran me through the proceedure over the phone, couldnt help so said to send it back to them for a look see, l did that , cost about $60 to send it insured, it come back looking the same as it left (second hand) but was fixed & still running it now,,but l wouldnt go for a TMAX again, id fit the Harley product,,l also had other issues with it from 2008 but smaller stuff. its also cheaper now to have the HD item fitted than the cost of a TMAX bought from another country with poor back up if/when something goes wrong...thats My opinion..!!!!!!!!!

It's problems just as you describe that led all my "contacts" with T-max to change to TTS . The T-Max units were all 4+ years old so warranty was a "no-goer" for them.

I perhaps persuaded them to go with the TTS , as I have extensive experience with it now and know how to make their bikes run well. Sportsters to Dressers I've done them all with success using TTS.

I personally find it the easiest system to use , but maybe I've just gotten used to it....

    As I've said before, I don't "sell" anything , and I work on dude's bikes " for fun "
