Ready to change the std rubber on my 2012 street glide, got 18500klm from the rear and may have 1000 extra left on the front. Any one using anything other than std on their tourer?

Would you like a photo? You pose the question as if i am telling fibs. The bike is to ride not sit and polish. The last trip was from the sunshine coast qld, over the snowys, great ocean road (three times on the same trip) on to Adelaide then back home via broken hill, 7500klm in 3 weeks. If you like i can send you the phone number of the bike shop to confirm the klm as it is booked to get tyres on Monday morning

Dont think that theres anything else that fits apart from Dunlop American Elite, if you can find them.

Any suggestions for tyres on an Ultra Classic 07, specifically after white walls.

Just replaced the std tyres with standard fitment d408 dunlops. Did just short of 18500 klm on the originals much to disbelief of some the women on the forum that find it impossible to believe that some people actually ride their bikes, even current models! I know that they also bring them out with whitewalls. There are a few tyres out there that may grip a touch better but never had a issue with the stock rubber provided you dont go crazy with them.

If ya get a chance, check out the Michelin Road commander II,  few folk here and USA are on them and there haven't been anything but good reports.

Got 30,000 outta the front OEM tyre on my 2010 glide, rode the first rear to 18,000 and the second rear to 12,000. I will change rears at 10,000 regardless from now on. The new tourer chassis does not like worn rear tyres at all, makes 'em handle like a dog on roller skates.

I got 18,000 out of the rear and 24,000 on the front of my 2011 FLHRC ... they were totally stuffed when I changed them.

G`day All , The first set on my 09 FLHRC , RKC the oem Dunlop 408 and 408F www`s , i found were / are great tyres , exeptional feel and confidence inspiring in all conditions , possibly 30-40 % of the time 2 up riding with 38psiF/40psiR religeously , i changed them both over at 20k as i noticed that i had "wore through the centre inch of the rear carcas" at just over 20k , i was checking them regularly toward the end and knew they were getting down but not that far gone , one trip they were ok , the next gone , bit of an eye opener and "big reallity check" knowing that i had just punted it over 400 kms 2 up , up the wisemans , cessnock , wollombi goat track to broke and then back down the putty at times over $1.40 on fucked rear rubber , like myself when i first seen it , the misses near fell over when i showed her the missing 8 inch x 1/2 inch strip down the centreline of the rear. The 408F was still ok bar some minor edge scalloping , i change em both at about 18 1/2k now unless they are looking due , im always checking there condition for cracks or wear now , but yeah it sure beats the old 12-13k changeovers of the past on the old heritage oem Dunlop 407`s which i thought were shitful grippers (almost wild in the wet) on the softail frame , compared to the 408`s and touring frame ? Must be the late touring frame and dual tyre compounds , aparaently they are meant to be softer on the edges and harder in the centre , though at 20 k both front and rear edges still looked half allright bar some very minor scalloping . Cheers
