Could be wrong but I think the Aldi bike gear sale is on this weekend (the 11th, errrm  Saturday?)   I remember reading Kelvar Jeans (?) Bike ramps, helmets gloves etc etc.   Check out the Aldi website if you want to know more.  I know there was one or two things I was looking at.

Bugger, the ramp has a max load of 200kg...most Harleys are over 300 (?). Lucky I saw the "dirt bike" reference in the ad.

The reason for the difference in load capacity between the Repco one and the Aldi one is that the Repco one is made from steel and the Aldi one (and most of the Ebay ones) are made from Aluminium.

That's not necessarily a bad thing (aluminium is a lot lighter and easier to cart around) but yeah... Harleys are too heavy for the single width alluminium ones.

helmets I wouldn't go for, looked like they would be noisey as hell and didn't fit wel.
the winter jackets, pants and rain gear is the same as I got a few years ago and have lasted well.
looked at the kevlar jeans, they didn't seem to have much kevlar in them, ass and a little down the legs
guess it's all down to get what you pay for but some of it has been great value for me previously

Having got soaked to the bone a few times recently in the unpredictable Melbourne weather, I bought the rain suit & merino top from Aldi - all put to good use / test in today's ride. Got to the local store by 09:00AM and also managed to get the last available matte black helmet (luckily it was in the size I needed). Plenty of multicoloured helmets left at that time.

I heard the guy who owns Safeway was a submarine captain during all 3 world wars and he fought for the Japanese until someone told him there were cheaper places to get dimsims from and so he made a snow house and fished for other submarines wearing a golden cap made entirely of lost children..

The handbrakes mum commented on a group of about 100 bikers,(yes that is what she said) all heading to the local aldi shop yesterday.

I was at work earning instead of spending for a change.

I did get some socks last year and they are great. they even say left and right on em so you dont put a mismatched pair on...........
