just wondering what everyone uses to wash and polish their bikes.

ive been using S100 that just sprays on and hoses off, seems to do the trick and i dont have to worry too much about it.

is the harley gear worth the money?

ive also been using the harley glaze and the spray shine or whatever they want to call it,  im not decided on if its worth it or not.

    cheers GS

My bike rarely sees water, I use the spray gloss and engine blackener. I do wash it with a soapy chamois after a dirty ride in the rain.

My mates think I'm made, rode to the Vets MC on Friday night, rained, rode it saturday back to the dealers to get something checked, rained, rode it to a friends yesterday, and it rained. Still haven't washed it, only got 600 kms on the clock. But, when I get around to washing it, I only use Meguiars NXT, no streaks and works a treat. The dealers gave me some 'Stardust Eclat' Spray, by Autosmart for the chrome and bodywork to provide shine, and it works a treat too.

S100 is apparently real good. Also been reading about something called pig spit? Might have to google that one. Supposed to be hot shit.

I use 3M stainless steel appliance polish in an aerosol can available at most supermarkets to clean up the black outs on my motor, works a treat and brings it up like brand new. Even lifts the white residue left behind on the black when polishing the chrome and the polish smears. I just spray it on liberally leave it for a minute or two the wipe of any excess and run the bike for a couple of minutes to burn the remaining away and she looks brand new again

    Rain... Water.... Fuck that!!

Call me a poof - my bike has never seen water in the 2 years I have owned it. I ride it, I just choose wisely when and where.

I use Mr Sheen a lot, and Purple Polish. :)

Once they get wet, they are never the same. You will get grime in every nook and cranny that is impossible to get out.

Yeah yeah... I am a soft cock... but a soft cock with a clean bike. :)

Armourall wash and wax from Woolworths, $9.95, and you only need a cap full and a small bucket. Lambswool (from the ugg boot bloke) and then chammy off.
Then do the Mr Sheen with a couple of microfibre cloths on pretty much everything.
To get the engine black again after a ride in the rain I just hose it off, wipe it down a little with an oily rag, give it a spray all over with WD40, then wipe off.

I generally ride to the car wash and use the soft brush and soap but make sure to use the spot free rinse. Then take the long ride home and let it cool down. Once cool I used to use Mr sheen all over, but last time a mate of mine recomended the cheap CRC from Supercheap Auto. Reluctantly i gave it a go and it worked pretty good . Tried not to get too much on the Chrome but was suprised to see where I did it polished as good as the Mr Sheen. Next wash smothered everywhere and result was great....... think I am converted as it improves the black and cleans the chrome....

Ive only put water to my bike once in 12 months mate. I do us mr sheen most the time but also have Harley gloss I find mr sheen is far better to use. I also found even that my bike is always shinny that when I did wash it with c18 truck wash and a soft cloth that the amount of dirt and shit that canm off was unbelievable. My brother and his mate always comment to me that I must spend hours polishing my bike when I showed them what I do they now have very clean bikes. Ps my bike don't leave the driveway with out mr sheen being wiped over it before I ride.

My bike gets covered in shit everytime I ride it, I wash it the same I do my cars, CT-18 truck wash, and the blower vac thing to blow all the water out of the crevices and to dry the paint. I chamois it off, apply a little polish and she's good for another few weeks.

I also clay the paint every 6 months to get the ingrained shit out of it. You'd be stunned what comes out of the front of the tank and the rear fender.......

Truck wash. Silicon spray after I taken her for a run to dry off, spray makes the dirt come off easy.

I jack up  the heritage on the bike jack & hit everything (Except paint) between the front wheel & the back with a Kartcher high pressure hose, then blow it dry with my leaf blower,  then with my compressor for the hard to get to spots. I use purple polish the best shit I have ever used on the chrome & the same product in wax on the paint, comes up like new! Having used Mr Sheen in years gone by, I have no problems with using it if I had to, IE cleaning the bike away from home!
