I am looking for a rack to suit my 1200c. I want to do a bit of touring in a couple of months. A couple of decent size s/bags would be good too. I believe there maybe a problem with S/bags & the indicators anyone know of a solution???

I have the HD quick-detach sissy bar/rack unit on mine. I fitted a medium sized Givi top box onto the rack; means you can't use the sissy bar when the box is on but the top case makes a very good backrest anyway. The top boxes don't look brilliant, but they do take a lot of gear, especially if you buy one of the large ones. My preference would be for the Hepco & Becker models as they are square (better for storage than the weird rounded Givi shape) and have much better locking systems. I have a full H&B luggage system on my W800 and it is excellent. If you do use the HD rack, bore through the holes in the mounting pieces and use stainless steel allen bolts with nyloc nuts to hold the rack mount. The standard system uses a threaded hole in the sissy bar 'legs' and the bolts will vibrate out in a very short time. I lost about half a dozen of them before drilling out the mounts and paying $3 for the stainless steel ones at a bolt supply place. The allen heads aren't very noticeable and they haven't moved since.

BTW, I picked up the complete rack/sissy bar and QD mounting set from US eBay for  $AUS275 inc shipping. It was new but from a shop closure sell-out.
