Anyone seen my neutral

G'day guys, my 92 Fatboy has always been tricky to get nuetral. I'll downshift to first then pop her up to neutral just before coming to a stop.

Trouble now is that neutral seems to have done a runner, It's nowhere to be found, gear shifts now seem to be a quite "clunky" and it's almost impossible to get neutral even when giving her some revs.

Had a new clutch fitted not that long ago, could it be in need of adjustment ?

    Any thoughts ?

Could be clutch - I'd ask what brand oil they put in it first.

If you had the clutch professionally installed, I would see the workshop that installed it before trying anything myself, not to blame them, but to put them in the picture.

+1 on what Kiwidave said. Piece of piss to fix if you know what you're doing. Just back it out half to 3/4 of a turn ( I tend to go for around 3/4 or very slightly less ) and adjust it every 4000km. Some do it every 8000km, but each to their own.

Thanks guys for the quick replies and the great advice.

Weirdest thing on the weekend, I went for a ride and same problem no neutral, then all of a sudden it comes good for a few stops then bang its back again ?

I might have a look at it this weekend although Ive been suffering a bit from "passion fingers" lately were everything I touch I f**k

(Probaly should stay off the jacks until after the jobs done)

    ;)

Always start with the simplest explanation - too much oil. Then oil brand. Then worry about grabbing a spanner.
