Hey folks,
Finally laid down the green and bought myself a "real" bike for the missus and I yesterday.
2012 Vivid Black Softail Heritage Classic. After the shock of actually buying the thing, I rode from the Hills in Sydney to Wisemans Ferry (dont we all - had a quick Jack D) then out to Windsor the back way and up to Colo Heights and back. 350 klicks so far
Can't wait to put more miles on it so I can start playing with exhausts and computers and shite.
I appreciate the good humour and awesome info on the forum so I apologise now for the dumb questions :-)

Welcome
Hey guys,
thanks for the welcome.
Just wondering about run-in information - All the dealer told me was the usual - don't labour the engine (only use 5th over 80 kph and only use 6th over 100kph) but what does that equate to in rpm? no lowewr than 1800~2200?
He also said don't rev too much - but this is hard while the moptor is so tight anyways - keep it below say 4,000 rpm?
He also said do not open the oil tank. I guess they have the HD multi-grade in for the the initial 1600 klms - will they change to a synthetic like I read many of the folks on the forum suggest?
I can see what you guys say about it running hot. 3 hours after getting home and the crankcase is almost too hot to touch. I thought I'd wait unitl it was run in - say 3-4,000 klms before changing the exhaust, a/c and tuner of some description.
Any comments on this? 450 klms and counting.
cheers
Welcome Mate .why change the Exhaust ?
