Exhaust wrap on Short Shots

Hey guys.  I may be missing something here, but thought I'd ask anyways!

I was going to wrap my short shots in a natural colour to give some contrast.  No issue.  Being from Canada originally I've taped up many a hockey sticks in my life, so plan on timing myself to see how fast I can do this!

    1.  Do most people take the heat shields off to wrap?  Can they be left on?  Just worried they may look too thin if I take them off

    2.  How have people wrapped around the mounting brackets on the backside?  They're sitting right in the middle of the pipe...

    Appreciate any info!

Sorry all. I'm a noob. What I meant by #2 was the nut plate on the backside of the pipe. Do I even need to use that? Can I just wrap over it?

Think ive answered my own questions :). For future ref for anyone else ever wondering the same:

    1. You can keep the heat shields on if you want and wrap everything together, but it might end up a bit tight and hard to work with once mounted
    2. You can wrap the mounting plate on the back of the pipe. You'll just need to poke some holes through the wrap for the bolts. Which might end up fraying over time.

So now to decide whether I want to wrap only up to the bracket, leaving the chrome after that exposed. Just not sure how it will look with everything else!

I wrapped my headers and then added copper wire to keep it all in place and it looks really cool as well. Gets lots of comments too.

Lookin good. That copper wire is awesome too dave.

Just make sure you don't catch anyone lifting the copper wire off your pipes and cashing in the copper. A guy and his son floated out to sea on an inflatable Lilo and had to be rescued after trying to strip the copper wires under a pier in Westernport bay. True story. people'll do anything for a little copper hahaha!

Hey Convert. The 48 seat is great mate. Still more comfy than the stock Iron seat. Hope all is well with your near (or recent?) new arrival. All the best. TC
