G'day - Does anyone know who might do repairs to HD digital speedo's. My 03 model one has started to move up slowely, stop at about 50 kph and take 10 minutes from stop to return to zero. The odometer works fine.
I rang Lional Otto Speedo Repairs and they said that old mechanical (cable) speedo's were rebuildable but digital was not always the case and second hand replacement might be the go.
I want to keep the original so I have a perfect single original unit track the record of klms travelled.
Anyone know of where I might be able to send it??
Cheers
Alvarez
What state are you in?
Gday Alvarez I dont no what model you have but if it is a 88 inch(1450cc) engine, the speedo sensor is on top of the RHS transmission housing Sort of near the end of the starter motor, held in by one allen head bolt Remove the sensor and wipe or blow it clean on the inside bit Check wireing while you are there See if that works If still faulty try a new sensor before you fuck with the speedo itself Cheers Stewy
thanks for that, will try the sencer. I am in nsw but assumed that I would be posting the speedo to where ever it can be repaired (if need be)
My speedo on my 1996 heritage (first electronic speedo model) does the same thing..in hot weather (only?) it slows, stops at about 50klm regardless of how high my speed is, and takes ages to settle back to zero whan I came to a stop??
Anyone got ideas on a fix or where I can have it looked at?? - State dont matter as I will also post.
