polished stainless bolts

    Should i change the shitty looking stock bolts and torx screws with polished stainless replacements, the question i am asking will the alloy threads be ok or will i fuck them.

    Change them...they'll be fine. Put s dab of anti-seize on them as you install them

    using blue loctite will stop the threads from galling as well as locking the bolts in

    Thanks for the assurance because i bought them on sale as a kit on the JP Cycles site in the states about 2 months ago but havnt put them on as yet,and they did come with antiseize.

    the only problem i have with stainless is it is soft so any tolls you use make sure they are a good fit

    if you have a bench polishing wheel at home , you can always try your hand at tarting up the regular bolts

    Just do a small area first and see if it floats your boat, more chrome for me tho.

    Thanks for all of the advice i am away fishing for the next week after a mighty murray cod at Walkool in NSW, when i get back home i will fit the stainless kit and post up some photos,and by the way i have caught 3 cod,2 just under size and one 67cm, we have only been fishing 4 or 5 hours so looks as though it will be a good trip.
