Hot Dog, there is a thread somewhere on this forum where people with stock pipes will lend them for the purpose of EPA defects.
a bit cheaper option and great support from fellow riders

Or , you can try fitting the pipes with tightly rolled up chicken wire, or similiar .  Keep the looks but quieter .

    Hi,

I tried my Local dealer (Geelong Harley) and they wanted to sell me some street bob pipes for $1700, i waited on the phone for 30min as she started counting and listing all these parts, I knew it wasnt going to be good

perhaps HarleyHeaven if you could run a thread on what you have to clear out as I want to change tommy gun to a staggered dual like street bob or superglide for a 96ci, i reckon $200-$300 sounds about right

    thanks

The idea with the chicken mesh is not to get a permanent fix but to get a temporary reduction so that you can get a bike through a noise test. If you're going to go down that path then I'd suggest investing in a cheap sound meter from ebay so you can get an idea of what sound level you're actually getting.
