are they legal to fit to bikes in australia? will you pass a RWC ? it`s just i want to fit saddlebags to my bike and i need to move the rear indicators backwards, i`ve found a layback plate holder that your blinkers attach to, but they are americian and i`d like find out there legality here, thanks (((-;
You're probably looking at something similar to what I fitted to my wifes sportster when I put bags on it. Not sure about the legalities of it all, but she had had this on for a year and never had problems with the police. You could ring a bike shop and check, or contact Vicroads.
Cheers
thanks tim, you`ve gotta be joking about vicroads though, i tried them reguarding ape hangers, and spoke to all sorts there, and no one could tell me whether or not they are legal there. was the wiring easy? (((-:
Sometimes I've had luck with Vicroads, sometimes not. Depends who you get on the day I think. The wiring isn't that hard. You dont have to cut any wires, just unplug and from memory, I had to take a plug off, which is possible with a pin or similar. There is more rooting around unbolting the indicators than there is doing the wiring. If you get stuck, I'm not that far from Geelong. The other thing I found is that our numberplates are the same size as the USA, so any fancy plate surround fits. You need to chase up some chrome plugs as well, because when you remove the indicators, you are left with two holes on each side of the chrome rail. One is the wiring and one is the mounting hole.
thanks tim, hey, what sort of dog is that?
He is a kelpie red heeler cross. I think his ears were full size when he was a pup. Doesn't look as retarded now.
