Looking to change my dunlops on my sportster find them a bit hard although the last pretty well.was talking to a guy at local bike shop and he says Metzelers are the most popular followed by Pirelli then Avon looking for feedback to get an idea what would be the best replacement cheers

     Hey Ireland,

Just put Avon venoms on my Nightster and they are very good. Note the bike shop tried selling me metzelers as clearly they have a bigger margin in them. venoms are softer but get better write ups than metzelers. End of the day it's $ vs mileage.

Ireland, I'm running Avon Venom White Walls and love them. I had the dunlops originally and wanted a quality white wall and went with the Venoms. It is my understanding that they are a softer compound, so you might lose a few hundred km's when doing your comparisons but they are extremely good on the road and look great on the bike!

night dragons work well for me, stock tyres used to squirm if i went over a white line on an angle, pirellis don't even move. Much better in the wet too.

Ive tried a few different brands, and I've settled for a michelin on the back and a night dragon on the front, Some people dont like mixing tyres but it works for me and I ride every day

Although this post is old I was wondering how they went?

I have a 2014 thats going to need tyres soon and I have had hte sqirms of the white line thing wiht the stock tryes and they are a bit slippy in the asre end in the wet.

go with Night Dragons - they are a soft compound and grip really well. You wont get as many k's from them but you wont be disappointed...

Loving the Shinko 777's, they are way better than the stock Michelins. Also cheap as chips too. The 170/70/16 looks tough too :)
