Does anybody know for sure if you can put a 150mm tyre on a 3.5 rim or do you have to have a 160mm tyre on it?
Thanks!
Thanks for the reply mate.
I have a Blackline and i've been told a 160mm tyre will scrub out heaps. Especially with a lowering kit installed. Rather play it safe.
I'm looking for wheels and most brands only do a 3.5 for softails. It's very limited finding 3.0 wheels. There's not a lot of variety.
Thanks again champ!
Hey champ.
The swingarm is the same as an FXST. It'll fit a 200mm ass end but it's the guard that stops it. The guard is very narrow. I have very limited knowledge when it comes to Harleys but the only way to learn is by asking so i was curious about putting a 150mm tyre on a 3.5 - a practice that is usually reserved for at least a 160mm tyre.
Now i know i can i will look around. Still concidering just looking at a 3" wheel and putting a 150mm tyre on that and being done with it.
We'll see.
Thanks heaps for your help though - i really do appreciate it!!!
Mate, chuck a FXST rear guard on it and go wide. The blackline looks like a dyna with that round rear guard.
And you wouldnt want to be associated with that motley crew.
Just had a look on the HD website. Nice lookin bike those Blacklines!! (without the dyna guard)
Yeah yeah each to their own, but they did it to the Wideglide too, beautiful bike but it needs the old ducktail rear on it!
I guess I am a bit "old tool"
oi I meant Old School, not old tool.........DOH!!
I'd love a 200mm ass end on it but it's all about $$$. I need to behave for a while. Maybe in the future. We'll see.
