RUSH Slip on Joining Bracket

     Gday guys,

Ive searched around a bit trying to find some answers with no luck, maybe someone can help.

Ive got RUSH Slip ons on my FXDC, and have just painted them black. Now, they were originally mounted with the slash facing outward, and id like to turn them to face to the ground. My question is, the long odd shaped bracket that joins them and holds them together, is this essential. It doesnt look like i can position them any other way with that bracket connected. If i leave it off, the only mounting point for muffler is the clamp onto the pipe, would these be too much pressure/weight on the pipe and risk bending or coming off altogether?

Thanks in advance guys, hope i havent made it to confusing

    Hey Rocket,

I too have the slip ons, I wouldn't personally leave the the bracket off. I assume it's there for good reason. The pipes vibrate a hell of a lot so it may cause the clamp to come loose/crack which could affect the overall running of the bike.

But because we're all hard bastards, you can do whatever you want of course ;0

    Take care,

On any Dyna the "linking" bracket is necessary between the mufflers

If you just rely on the exhaust clamp(s) to hold the mufflers onto the downpipes and therefore to the bike then they WILL fall off.

Not " If " but when.

I've seen the mufflers fall off Dynas WITH the bracket in place FFsake !!

Some guys used to position up the mufflers and brackets, then before clamping the Torco muffler clamps to 45Ft/Lbs they would drill and pop rivet the mufflers onto the downpipes UNDER the muffler clamping area

To get the look you want "Slash-Down" mufflers are what you need.
