Saying goodbye to the Russian-like cit--Manchuria, before we enter the Heilongjiang Province --one of the 3 northeastern provinces, we will ride through the last beautiful scenic spot in Mongolia Autonomous Region: Erguna grassland.
We've been to Erguna grassland many times, each time we had different feelings.There are no trees and no rocks on the mountains. In June, the most beautiful month of a year, all the mountains are covered by velvetlike green grass. Even the most advanced camera cannot fully present the natural beauty of Erguna grassland. We suggest our harley bothers should not use busy business as excuses and even shouldn't addicted to the boring Mahjong and landlords poker games. You should prepare your outfits and start your harley motors on some weekendof this season and experience this most awesome grassland in China.
Leaving Erguna, passing Gen River, soon we arrived at the northern most landmark of our team--Arctic Village in Mohe county. Arctic village is also the last inflection point: from here, the restof our journey will be home returning journey. Entering Heilongjiang province, after 3 months' travel, we saw the familiar trees and flowers, listen to the familiar northeast dialect and eat the familiar northeast dishes. Our nostalgia feelings are hard to describe. Get down to business, the Arctic Village is the northernmost place in China and is only one river apart from Russia. Here is also the hometown of Northern Lights. Only 5 days before we arrived, there appeared large-scale Northern Lights. It's a shame that we missed. In spite of this, we were amazed at the night sky. At 23:00 PM, the skyline in the north is both like dawn and dusk, bright , colorful and charming. The buildings in Arctic village is very proenvironment,too. And is of strong ethnic flavor. We recommend this place to harley friends. If you have time, this place is worth visiting.
Leaving Arctic Village, we rode through primeval forest along Heilongjiang border road, silver birch and pine trees are on both sides of the road. Accompanied this road is the eighth longest river of the world, 4000m long Heilongjiang River. It's also the boundary river of China and Russia. 200 hundred years ago,Heilongjiang River should be our inland river. Damn, in Qing Dynasty, the Emperor didn't ask us civilians' opinion,just gave half the river, hundreds and thousands of acres land and millions liang(a unit of weight in China) silver to the Russians at gun point. Nice horse is more likely to be ride on and kind people is more likely to be defeated. This is supposed to be our Chinese land.
Our team was marching to Heihe. It gave us so much surprise. This is a clean, beautiful and uncrowded boarder city.. The buildings are grand and the streets are tidy. The deepest impression is the 1st northeast province bring in public bicycles. Riding on motorcycles for 3 moths, we were thrilled to see bicycles. We decided to rest for one day and ride bicycles to go sightseeing in the port. We rented 3 bicycles and played all day. When we returned the bikes, guess how much they charged us? 7 RMB! We really were impressed by the mayor of Hei he! You'd better be transferred to Shenyang! We appreciate you!
