Had a discussion with a friend of a friend the other day where we disagreed at a price on a bike that he said was cheap. I thought it was a little pricey and maybe fair at the best considering the kms and being an import etc.

Bike in question is a 2007 96 ci 6 speed softail custom, 45,000 kms, american import and ready for rego(passed all inspections ect). Bike has drag bars and willy g grips and footpegs along with cheapo ground pounder pipes. it is in good condition with all things considered.

Can i get some opinions on what people think something like this would be worth. I have seen a couple of 2006/7 96ci 6 speed softail customs with under 10k kms for very close to $20,000 so to my way of thinking this bike should be quiet a bit cheaper.

Peoples thought on pricing please.

It's a buyer's market. Id bargain down and expect a better deal than $20k for a US imported custom with that amount of mileage on it.

My thoughts aswell, he is saying its a bargain at 19,500, im saying its not as there is others around advertised for 21k or under that are oz delivered with under 10k kms on them.

 I got my 2007 Australian delivered Wideglide for $16000 in December 2011. It had 35000km on it and was fitted with a hyperharger, V&H 2 into 1 exhaust, back rest, burleigh bars, smooth front rim and a few other bits and pieces. So $20k seems a bit high.

That bike would have been $9000 USD max

Even at $5K to get it here AND complianced it's still only $14 K Australian

It won't pass rego inspection in any Australian state with that exhaust system you mentioned

And the imports HAVE affected residual values of original Aussie supplied bikes , that's also for sure !

Oh, and ALL the imports here in Perth have 4,900 K's on them ...Hmmmmm...
