Has anybody had this happen, or know the cause of smoke blowback through your air cleaner?

After going for a ride today, cleaning my bike (without water) and starting it again to put it in the garage, when i shut the bike down once inside the garage i heard a "pop" and a small ammount of smoke pushed back through the air cleaner.

I started the bike again and she ran fine and i couldn't get it to do it again. The bike is an injected twin cam 96cui with a heavy breather. It only has 3,000kms on it and is 6 months old.

Is this something that needs attention or is it a common occurence with these things?

It's not uncommon. Takes the lining up of a couple of different circumstances to make it happen but don't sweat it.

Happened to me out in the middle of nowhere, thought I'd cooked my bike but since found out its nothing to worry about.

Have since found out is was just a fizzer. Scared the shit out of me though. Haha.
