Ten points for effort though to the ones who said hi vis would increase accidents by making the riders blend into road signs.

ive been ran off the road with a hi vis vest and left in the midle of the road ... if 1%ers get hi vis vests thell blend in and the police will hound all equel .. 1% clubs cause .03% of all crime but jap riders cause as much as 60% of road accedents so to start at 1% then the 60% is the way they work .. the clubies would benafit from haning there patches up but the 99% would not understand ..J..

I read in my local rag that they are going to introduce a law that all bikers will have to wear a light weight amber flashing light on their helmits..........

Fuck! Not only did the Hi-Vis not save him, but neither did the flashing lights!!

I must say though... Seriously - Who though that was a good idea!! Should have been a squad car. Wankers!!

Maybe these fucksticks should look at how many posties get knocked from their bikes each year (and many, many of those accidents go unreported) and they'll see what a total waste of time this fluro crap is.

Wy not all cars and trucks to look like cop cars so thay can be seen and pedestrians also so the office people look like a lolly pop person ..,, we need to educate the car driver not punish the bike rider... I had a smash in July my headlight on as they are , she pulled out in front of me now it was night so a headlight was easy to see so a hi vis vest would do nothing if they arnt looking if I was a Mack truck she would be dead as she had no hiviz vest we fought no headlights on in the 70s they said it would curve deaths but not so a head light in the sun blends in but a silouet can be seen all the shit here for viz vests are by people that have not been on the seen since the70s like most of us . people seem to want this for the 1%rs but wen it's done to them as I said the cops will hound the other 99% .look at the big pitcher not the signature in the corner .. Well that's my opinion anyway

Soapbox, I think the problem (and a few guys are doing it) is when people start saying defeatist shit. That's what pisses people off. You may know where you stand, but most of us are reading things like "would it be so bad" and wondering if you're dragging others into the apathetic way of thinking. Already on other forums people are saying shit like that and other people are agreeing (people who hadn't really made up their minds) and some forums are taking the "it'll never happen so we don't need to worry about it" approach and that shit spreads throughout the whole forum.
Pick a side and stand on it and let everyone know where you stand imo. We don't need any Captain Obvious' telling everyone if it becomes a law it will be almost impossible to get rid of, or we'll have to accept it or give up riding.

Soapbox, Apologies if I got a little hot headed but i'm only a 10 post member. I guess you have to post 1515 times before your point of view is of value, debatable though?  I however wont apologise for being passionate about the continuing discrimination against bikers and freedom of choice / speech in general. Yes, you have your opinion, I respect that, just dont agree with the apathetic and listless ambivalence to the potential of having hi-vis clothing forced upon us. I just dont subscribe to the theory of shrugging my shoulders, saying a polite yes sir, no sir then bitchin and whining AFTER the event. I do appreciate you clarifying just who does wear the pants in your family though, thanks. FYI, it's DIPLOMA.

And without this turning too much into a circle jerk I see what you're saying too, Soapbox. However, anyone wanting the "biker" opinion may stumble in here and start "selecting" quotes to support their bias. The last thing I want is anyone's words being used against all of us- we have to be crystal clear that we don't want this crap.
I'm sick of being punished and my freedoms eroded by do-gooders catering to the fucking idiotic people in society.

My year 11 education obviously was below the Australian average, but you knew what I was trying to spell, and with that, I see we are now past the "you, me, why you .. stage and we can sit back and let the forum unfold.
