First post Guys so hi to all

What would cause this discolouration all the way to the end of the pipes?

Thanks for the reply. Thought as much but have never had any of my pipes discolour all the way to the end. Maybe just lack of cleaning and like you say no heat shields to cover 1st part of the pipes.

    Cheers Phil

On a cool bike like that I reckon that colour rocks. Not everything needs to be high polished parked out the front of your favorite cafe chrome.

    Hi Ozroder,
Slightly off this topic, but, is the purple polish just like a car duco/paint polish? Rub on, buff off? No special witchcraft required?
Soft damp cloth to apply and cotton cloth to buff? Or something like that...

I ran a set of brushed stainless 2-2 Supertrapps and gave up polishing them in the end (prefer to ride rather than polish). The headers got a nice deep blue look to them in the end and all in all I liked the look.
