Hey Gang, finally joined the "dark side" and currently awaiting arrival of new steed, a softail deluxe. I was totally smitten when I first layed eyes on one. Have banged down deposit at local dealer, but yet to negotiate final price ... can you actually negotiate buying a Harley? Was told straight up that "we always sell the two-tone version which is 500.00 more and with the smooth wheel option (another 500.00) as standard, so we're at 30k already :-(

I'm lucky enough to have a few different bikes and have been riding for ...geeez, what would it be now? ...since I was 13, so that be about 36 years or so. Although I have enjoyed curry runs for many years on sports bikes and have also experienced other cruisers, this will be the first Harley and I'm looking forward to it like a kid waitin for Santa.

Anyways, just a quick g'day, great site, hope to catch up with some other like minded locals for a blast now and then... and please excuse all my dumb questions about the bike, cheers folks
