I've been looking at the Joker Machine speedo side mount with LEDs

    http://www.jokermachine.com/itemstreet2004.asp?ItemID=636&CategoryID=92&Placeholder=0

The product description states that it is only for 2004 and up, why is this? would it not fit on a 96 model? If it is voltage issue as the old bike still use bulbs and not LEDs could I not introduce a resistor to protect the LEDs in the assembly?

    Any advice appreciated

     Thanks T1 & hmmm

    Got this reply from JM:

"It's a wiring issues. You have 10 wires and ours only has 7. You can make it work but you'll have to splice some wires together. I have something I can send you that will help you wire it."

Hmmm did you have to splice anything and add resistors to protect the LEDs?

    Cheers

45WL have you considered the Autometer 3209 bracket to relocate your speedo? Much cheaper option, then all you have to do is sort the bar clamp & idiot lights.
