I believe one of two things happened here.
1# he started with the best of intentions. That is your bike was found for sale in the states and Jeff( even though nearly going under) still integer to trade his way out of the shit. This didn't happen so at what stage your $15,000 made it to is the key. Sadly I would think your cash was used elsewhere and never exchanged hands for that bike.that bike may still be a legitimate US bike for sale but unfortunately not paid for.

2# Your dealings with him started with him being a complete fucktard. He excepted your money with no intention of making a sale.
In this case I would believe that any photo he had would be carefully picked not to cross match with others. He would know you are looking at red night trains. He would pick neutral backgrounds likely to not be for sale.
He probably just surfed the net for harleys and looked for random photos. You could do similar searches and you may find something.

I'll have a look at the Fair Trading legisation and see what I can find out about the fund.  If you have any correspondence that states which Act or Sections of the Act that controls the fund, or the exact name of the fund let me know.  In the interim I will check out the Fair Trading Act and check what other legislation the Fair Trading Office administers.

Thanks Low Life, basically had to fill in a form PAMD Form 50 - Claim against the claim Fund under the Claims and Recoveries department of the Justice of Attorney-General, Office of fair trading.

Interesting I haven't heard back from the trike owner on the Sunshine coast on ebay.

Hey HD73,

How good are original photos he sent you??  Can you zoom in???  Here are a couple of things I noticed.  The last photo looks like a bike riding away and on the RH side of the road, that means USA/Canada (zoom in and check).  I used to live in the US and in the states where it snows it is not unusual to have the parking lots re-tared and that what it looks like in the photos.

In the first photo it looks like a shop sticker on the front of the frame see if you can zoom in.

Finally, some good news.

RICHARDSON was located and arrested on Sunday afternoon in Bowen Qld. He appeared in the Townsville Magistrates Court on Monday and has been remanded in custody until his next court appearance date on the 26/11/2012!!

Now all the fun begins, the only people who win in court cases are the Lawyers. Gezz some of those pricks can charge a fortune for their services....

Good news that he has been finnally brought in ... now lets see if our great legal system will let him slip through the cracks again .

Just a courious question towards the motorcycle mags here , now i dont buy every Harley Mag out there but have been keeping a eye on the usal contenders these last few months and have not found a single artical about the whole mess this prick has created and even to my amazement a couple of mags were still carrying his advertising quite some time after it was clear what he had done , pretty sure a couple still do .

What gives with that , any thoughts .

most mags have a 4-5 month lead way, sometimes more....

I can see your point Choppa , it`s just a sad reflection on what is surposed to be a land of free speech and to have to be hogtied becuse of fear of being sued is a tad annoying is all .

Maybe as Terroristrone says there is a 4 to 5 month lead time in some of these Mags although every one i have read they are always banging on about just making deadline .

I surpose it would have been seen as being a bit more morally correct for the Mags to at least put a disclaimer in their mags along the lines of ... " even though we are still advertising this company they are no longer in buisness " ... or something along those lines , that way they are not saying what is right or wrong and are covered legally .

Anyhow the saga continues , fingers crossed for some justice for the people affected ... safe riding all .

 Does anyone have any updates on the the low life dogs court appearance yesterday?

I just read the Townsville bulletin this morning and it states he was arrested yesterday in Bowen on 18 charges. It also says that he was realesed on Bail, the judge dosen't think he is a flight risk.. I tried to go on line so i could attach a link but the story doesn't appear in the on line paper. Title of story is Bike Shop Boss on run Bailed.

No passport, live with parents and report daily to police. He would now not be that difficult to find I would think.

Unaware he had a warrant? As if....

Doubt he woulda had a problem with outlaw motorcycle club members or "bikie gangsters" , if he hadn`t of knowingly dog`d so many of them for so much , funny how it`s him who is now claiming to be the victim of those that HE rorted , the money just happenned to vannish , like he did , yeah right , what a rat !
Staring at a cell wall for a decade wouldn`t be long enough in the eyes of all those going without at this time of the year because of him !
Feel for all those genuine customers he duped !
