I've made exhaust systems for all kinds of performance cars, i'm yet to make a set for a bike, but if all you are looking to do is mod your existing set then it should be easy, work out what bends you need and order the mandrel bends, i mostly use stainless, but mild steel will do the job also. I usually try not to use heat wrap as it really effects the metal over time.

Cut out the sections/bends/angles and mig/tig it togeather, you can 'tak' weld it on the bike then remove and weld.

If you live in the brisbane area I took my bike  into Fat Pipes exhaust shop one saturday morning and told them what i wanted and two hours and $200 later we made a set of two into ones ,so just head to local exhaust shop and ask ,it was to easy (baffle was $35 )from rollies

Im made my own for my Iron Head Bobber a few years ago,

Took me about 2 hours and $100.00 of bends , I tyred Wraping them  but wasn't happy so I then got them Cermaic Coated.

If you do decide to go ahead with making your own and you dont have a tig, just tak them togeather with a mig them take them to a shop to get tig welded as you don't want to have welds looking like "coff" cocky shit ^  .

Bends can be found alot cheaper, just call a few exhaust places or even try proex mate.
