Cams for a 103 Cube

Looking for positive experiences with Cams to suit a 103, Frasers (Perth) have advised 204 for low to mid and and 211 for mid to high. I'm looking for a lump at idle (Who dosen't) and more two up pulling overtaking power, not flat out power. low mid torque I guess.. I will have a SEHB and the SE Race Turner + V&H Big Shots fitted at first service, other wise engine will be stock. Looking to get them fitted at first service or there abouts and dyno the bike in and have a full set tune to suit.

    Cheers,

Have you picked up your bike yet Roosta? Or are you still building the wish list for when it lands?

    Regards

Cheers Oz, will look at them, just the numbers Frasers had given me.

Have no intention at this stage of altering heads or pistons and the like, just want a little lump at idle and more lower overtaking torque, hope to be getting the missus out for country runs, but also a bit of a hoonish ride one up with extra seats removed will be on the cards.

    Thanks again.

    Hay Russ,

Frasers have  told me that I should get it this coming Friday, planning a run to Kalgoorlie to catch some of the lads out there, so that's around 1600ish Kms turn around, then SEHB + pipes + tuner and cams to go in at first service.

I have a mate with a 96ci FB 2008, he's fitted the 211 and the PC2 and loves it, but looking for feedback fromanyone thats added them to a 103.

Am chasing more overtaking torque and lowe down power, but will still clear it's throat on one up, seat off rides.

    Cheers,

Any chance you could put a SE 204 then a Cycle rama 274 thru your desktop dyno and let me know. Same deal its a 103 street glide looking for the same torque over outright HP.

Cheers OZ, yeah, that's the thing, hoping to get alittle more over standard with a lumpy idle, but dont want to open her up too much, but will look into the heads I guess, stage kit.

Pauly, do you have a link to the cams you've mentioned.

Mate for what it's worth I have a mate with a dyna with 254e's in his 96, goes fine, he has air done and V&H short shots, I'm impressed with the power they generate, but they have a really short duration. Have another mate with the 259e's in his Road King, with work done to his heads and air cleaner and V&H long pipes pulls hard and comes on strong. The 259's are a high lift version of the 211's. I would go the 259e's if it was my choice if you're not increasing your compression.

I had SE211's in my 96 and loved them, but you need to change down a gear or too to boggie, which I don't mind. Probably not really good for touring/passing in top gear. I have gone to a 103 stage 4 kit with the SE259E cams

What sort of HP and TQ are you getting from your stage 4 ?

So I was sold on the 204's, untill I heard a FB 2012 with the 211's, sold. Bike goes in Friday week, 211's and the V&H Bigshots will go on and in, re-tune and see how she goes. Probably dyno it at a later date, want to get so more Kms on her first, still haven't got past 900 kms yet.

    Cheers,
