I love my '99 road king, have noisy hollow mufflers on it, but the cross over ( balance?) pipes on cruisers tend to even the exhaust note out .

If I could afford it I'd buy vance & hines big radius 2 into 2's, but has anyone modified original system, i.e. change rear cyl. exhaust  to eliminate shared pipes, I could just weld in a new section, making 2 into 2, would this make it lumpier note, but will it decrease torque lots? any ideas appreciated.

ive heard of it don but i feel the bend is to great like a U turn the cross over would let the exhaust flow quicker ,,, but a dyna style 2 into 2 would ne diferent thing .J.D.
