Anyone know how to change the alleged 9 volt battery inthe HD security alarm? Last time i got it serviced they told me it needed replacing but they didnt have one. Today I found the alarm antenna and followed the lead back to the alarm unit, its on the left side wherethe fuses are. I managed to get it out but now i have no idea how to get it apart to change the 9 volt battery. I'm guessing you just pry the top off it but i'm not having much luck and dont want to stuff it. Is this where the alleged battery lives? Its an 07 wideglide.
So is that the box under the left side cover where the fuses are? When looking at the location of the fuses the box is down the bottom left corner, with a clip at the bottom? Looking at it before sliding it out its probably 40 to 50mm square. When you get it out theres two leads plugged into the bottom of it. Looks like the 40 - 50mm square top should come off. The top is actuallthe part you see before you slide it out from where it sits with all the fuses. Is this right?
Right hand sidecover has the battery. Havent found the alarm yet, havent looked to hard yet though. Cant see it on the left. Perhaps hiding behind the battery somewhere behind the battery. The other box i found on the left side where the fuses are is the actuall security module not the alarm, irealised this once i had a look in the owners manual and saw it pctured there. Probably lucky i didnt pry it open. I'll have a decent look on the weekend, all else fails i'll ask the dealer as he had it out but didnt have a new battery for it.
