Never tried them but think they may come under the obscuring your number plate No No. The Regs say something about the plate being clearly visible bla bla bla so dont think these would pass Police scrutiny.

I think PC plod would see the changes in the plate as you go past and/or he passes you and pick up on this pretty quick. Neat idea though if it works and is legal.

Fast Four's Magazine Report - "If the risk of a minor fine for obstructing a licence plate outweighs the several hundred dollars and points loss for a speeding fine, then The Protector is the product for you."

I hear they work too well. They dont distinguish between cameras and actual hooman beein's, and if a hooman looks at ya plate sideways like a cockeyed coppa, they will notice you have some funky shit going on with your plate....

And probably before you had the chance to do your litespeed cannon ball run.

I thought they put up the fines for obscured number plates awhile ago. And I also thought they had other categories for fines like anti speed detection devices, which is a much harsher penalty. It was just something I read somewhere (maybe on the net) so I could be wrong.

     Hey,

There was some sort of spray can you could buy from ebay. All you had to do was spray it over the plate and the camera couldnt read it. I forget what it was called.Does anyone remember it?  Others have told me hair spray on the plate also works. I havent tested that theory...

But if the sprays did work, they sure as shit aren't gunna tell anyone. You could bet ya balls on it that if it did work, they wouldn't show you. Wouldn't they be in trouble for showing us that? Dunno guys, but mythbusters (good show) wouldn't put themselves in the shit! IMO of course.

Saw 3 pink ones on acid years ago, does that count?  Ha ha ha............

But seriously , if ya painted your plate it'd be a bust anyway? Cops would notice a plate that's repainted? I think I could. Good idea, but a bit "mmmmmmmmmm"

I have an excellent idea for beating speed cameras and radars. Its called doing the speed limit. I know it may seem a novel concept to some of you guys but trust me, it works.

Best one I have seen was on a Fireblade. It involved a power aeriel motor in the rear ducktail/glovebox attched to the number plate on a  hinge. Had a rocker switch on the bars, hit the switch and number plate goes down flat. Aussie engineering and it works (depending on your reflexes).

Anyways word gets around the internet and some wacko in Sydney uses the same device to make a name for himself doing big speeds in the tunnel and the bridge. Big media outcry. Eventually caught him.

Problem now is the cnuts are getting dirty and hiding cameras behind bins, behind apple crates and even camo'd as bushes with the vehicle 200 -400m up the road where I usually ride.

Here in SA you are not allowed to cover your plate with anything like plastic etc. So the blocker thingo is illegal. I like the Ali black curtrain though.

Surely they would have to prove that you knowingly placed a 'plate blocker' on your bike, you could always plead ignorance, that it was on there when you bought it, and had no idea.
