Bought the IB Bike Lifter, I'll do a review on it shortly, in the mean time check out their video.
Fucked if i would put under from the side he did in that video, when you let it down you are on the wrong side if the stand isnt down properly.Trust me in know from experiance.
I also have one have had it for about 4yrs & it works great with no issues what so ever handle the streety easily.
That guy is either very experienced or its someone elses bike. Hahahaha
I do put my lift under the opposite side to the stand but I am extra careful about it.
Was shitting tacks the other night when the bike was on the lift and the earth rattled.
I do it the same way as the guy in the video, except I'm holding on to the handlebar/throttle when I lower it.To be sure,to be sure. when I jack my rocka up,I have to get the bike vertical before I can get the jack (same type as yours) under. (Clearance) When I'm lowering, I check to see if the side-stand is out first. "IF" something happens,I 'm on the side to stop the bike from falling over. "IF" the bike fell the other way,the stand is at least better than having nothing there.IMO...
Ok review time, I used it in the Afternoon to give Candy some Bike Husbandry,
Construction is very robust, finished in a nice hammer tone paint.
First time I placed the Lifter under I didn't have the balance correct, so the front wheel didn't leave the ground.
Lowered then tried again, balance correct, I couldn't believe how easy it was to raise the bike off the ground and engage the jack lock.
Gave it a bit of a shake on the Lifter, not to much mind you, but enough so if I was to bump it. Solid as a rock.
Gave Candy a Clean and Polish, Even gave the tires a good going over.
Wasn't to sure how I'd go when lowering the Lifter, first check make sure the side stands down and the wheels turned to the left.
Had to disengage the jack lock first, then lowered bike slowly to ground.
I was holding on to the handlebars for dear life, just in case, not a problem controlled the lowering speed via the control screw.
She went down smoothly hassle free.
Removed jack with a smile on my dial.
Construction 9/10
Ease of use 9/10
Price 8/10
There are cheaper units available, so as there are cheaper motorcycles available.
But I like how this ones made and the ease of using it.

I've been using Ian's (IB) bike lift since not long after he started to build them. Never a problem and can't recommend them highly enough. If anyone is dumbarsed enough to drop their bike off one of these someone should have shut the kindy door to stop them getting out!
My two bob's worth!
Well I dont like, and wont, stand on the left hand side. If it starts falling to the right, theres no way you can stop it. If I'm standing on the right and the same thing happens, but bikes falling to the left, there's a side stand OUT to stop the bike falling over.As for balance pumping up or letting down, hang on to the bars. Maybe mine is different because I dont have to use my hands for anything on the jack? Just my foot? Just looked at the video on the top of the page. I dont care what anybody says, but when lowering, look to see if the sidestand is out, look again to make sure, and hang onto the handlebars until you DEFINITELY KNOW its on the floor properly. My bike is 100% DEFINITELY not gunna fall over. I dont take chances with any of my Harleys.
RRP for the IB 380 is normally $327, the IB 460 is $399, If you want either one, contact Winfried, should be able to help you out with a discount. See earlier post on this thread for his email.
