Sorry to hear that Woz, Sorry to Noddy. I know what it feels like to have something stolen. For a bike, that is very very low.

For most of us it's something we work very hard for to earn and buy something of a dream.

To have it stolen, it's shattering. I live here in Melbourne and the first week I bought my sportster,

somebody already tried to steal it. I think it';s lucky it had standard alarm and steering lock, plus my car was in the way.

They would have needed to lift it out of the garage.

Anyway, I'll definitely keep my eyes open and would love to see those guys brought to justice.

Who knows they might be a syndicate.

    Fuck'n Pricks!!!!....Makes me sick

A timely reminder to those on bikes around the Gold Coast for Bike Week. A few unsavouries here this time of year.

Be aware at Wintersun ( Coolangatta) this year a couple of hot cars that had been on display during the day where followed back to where they where staying and ripped off during the night. Pro theives & cars were never seen again.

The other pissoff is that insurance will not pays it's true value, that being what you as the owner believe it worth ( sentmental value)....

As for insurance, unless you keep adding the extras that you put on your bike each year to your policy you will lose out badly. Something I noticed is that every year your bike devalues and your policy doesn't become any cheaper,so you can add the extras and it wont cost you any more.Thats my experiance anyway, you guy's might like to think about that or put your thoughts here.I noticed in the pic of the stolen bike that it has white walls,I had never thought about putting them on my Heritage but they do look good don't they.

I'm being a post whore but................

I saw this product on tele today called DataDot. I believe its a DNA spray to ID parts.

You can buy it in a spray can, spray your bike bits and your bike bits will be identifiable by DNA. So if the bits or bike are 'on sold' and found, they know where they come from. (hopefully the bike is still in on piece and just rebirthed)

Wonder if the insurance companies will give discount on the premium if you use the gear?

Some may say its not much good when the bike is already gone, but hey, it's better than nothing.

Check out their website. Disclaimer: I have nothing to do with this company

You all know the renewal notice you get in the mail that says 'if we don't hear from you by a certain date your policy will be automatically continued at the new premium'. Thats the insurance company relying on you being lazy. Thus they charge you more without question.

After someone followed me home earlier this year, and I caught him in the yard in the shadows while I was putting my new 07 in the shed, I started experimenting with some cheap molbiles with the idea of hooking up a tracking system on the bike. but as usual, got as far as buying a couple of phones an not much else done.

But after reading these posts, I started to look around again to see what is around.

I have found on ebay a new cheap gps/gsm tracker at around US$180, it is not much bigger than a credit card by the looks of the photos and it has a couple of features, but the main one is you can dail in, and it will sms back it location.

    Have a look at  http://stores.ebay.com/Spy-Security-Products_W0QQcolZ4QQdirZ1QQfsubZQ2d33QQftidZ2QQtZkm

I have ordered one to play with, when it turns up I will open a new topic on thee forum and see how this thing works and if it is going to be any good.
