Having been travelling to scenic spots like Yili,Ghost city,Kanas, Hemu, Palette town, seeing the magnificance of Gobi desert, prarie and highway , what surprise will the rest 700-800km in Sinkiang bring us ? After 2 days' rest in Uramchi-provincial capital of Sinkiang, our team continued the last section in Sinkiang.
We started off from Uramchi on the morning of 7th, June towards the Grape Heaven:Turpan. On the way , we [assed by Angel industry--Chinese largest wind power station. Pure white groups of windmills formed a sharp contrast with oil exploration industry: One is Kowtow machines: streching deep down into the earth sucking oil likecockroaches, the other is standing against the wind,spining their white fans gracefully, such sharp contrast, and which one is angel then?
The next day we passed a much more famous place: the Mountain of Flames: well known for burning Sun Koku's ass red . It also named mongkey king, a famous literature figure in Pilgrimage to the west.We were so impressed by the author. He must have been to this place, or how can he discribed it so vividly? The Mountain of Flames is consisted of 100km mountains, looked from faraway or nearby, it looked like a burning fire. When our team came out of Turpan and rode near Flame mountain, we felt like being stuffing into a oven right away. We took off our helmets and masks, looked at our dash board: 40 centigrade!!! According to the locals' introduction, there is a large thermometer, in the summer the surface temperature is above 70 centigrade. Put an egg on the ground, and soon it will be boiled! If the soles of your shoes are thin, you'd better not walking here. We surely concern most about the tyres of our motors, riding on such hot road surface, we had to stop now and then to lower the temperature of the tyres. We remembered it was reaaly hot when we travelled to Hainan Province( half is sea and the other half is flame), but not until we arrived at Flame Mountain should we know Hainan basically can be concluded into South Pole area!!
The locals designed their scenic spots based on the Pilgrimage to the west. The scale isn't large enough and there were few tourists.Maybe because of the hot weather here. Not long after we left Flame mountain, we saw the "unique architectures": architectures built by soil blocks with air-vent. People live here and it's kind of low, we don't konw what they are used for. Then we suddenly were enlightened: These are airing houses used for dry the grapes. On our way, we saw a lot of airing houses like these. Turpan deserved its name as the hometown of grapes. We should eat more raisins after seeing such eco houses.
The last section of Sinkiang, we saw the superb Gobi desert, this is the last bravo Sinkiang brings us. Sinkiang si a wonderful place! We hope we can come again!Bye, Sinkiang!
