well, I have been warned, I have been told, didn't listen....

I had my ex, Vulcan 900, for 5 years and not a single little drop, my Road King 2011, not even 10mths old and its at the second leak already.

first was at the oil cooler, somewhere, now is above the oil filter, I am not sure if there is an oil pump in there or not, I guess I will take it to the dealer to have it fixed anyway.

i am just annoyed about the inconvenience....

Unlucky, mines almost 2 years old and only had a clutch limit switch issue.
Could be worse, if it was a Metric you would only have a one year warranty.

i should've started my post with "i love my bike!", which i do!

is just an oil leak, you're right, they are at it for over 100 years now and still can't make a dang seal right.

isn't this an annoyance in itself?

Somebody smarter than me on here realised that his bike wasnt leaking oil, it was just marking its territory.

The japs cant get their bikes to leak like a Harley Davidson can.......... but no doubt they will find the technology to copy this aspect of the greatest marque!!

degrease it then ride it to see where its leaking from.

it also could be one of your jelouse mates that warned you not to buy one, they could of got the oil can out and playing a joke on you.

Yes, she is marking its territory, I probably just wanted to show off my bike.

Happily live with the few drops of oil on my garage floor, but realistically, we could do without.

    Ride safe!

I would say its something to do with the adaptor plate for oil cooler, probably a pinched O ring or not torqued up correctly nothing major

    annoying...
I'm new to the Harley world... mine has just started to leak too... it's a sportster rocker cover and apparently common.
Of the 30 or so previous bikes, 4 were Ducati's... not a problem with any of them but I probably sold them before they went bang.
