Another scenic spot near Kanas: Hemu. Only seeing Hemu can we really realize what is rual landscape. We were lucky to stay over at this heaven-like Hemu for one night. When we woke up in the morning, we can see smoke from the chimneys, sheep and cows everywhere and the grass is like green carpet. It's a shame we pick the wrong Major bake in college, we should study drawing! This marvelous beauty we can only express by camera. Take your time to enjoy.

Hemu grassland is located in the bason of Kanas river and Hemu river. The evelation is 1124-2300m. Hemu village is the highest administrative institution and the northest village of the west of China. The Tuvans who keeps the original life style live here. Hemu village, is one of the famous village of Tuvans, and is also the farest and largest village of the 3 existing ones.(Hemu village, Kanas village and White haba village). The population of the whole Hemu village is 1800, and the Tuvans of Mongolia is 1400 in total. Their houses disperses on the grasslands fo the mountains.
The wood house is becoming the sign of Tuvans. The main structure is made of single layer logs whose diameter is 30-40cm with half of the wood buried in the earth, in order to resist the severe cold here during the half-year snow-blocking time. Both warm and moistureproof. The top of the house is usually nailed into herringbone-shape rainshed,oringal and full of nomadic flavour.

Everywhere is sheep an dcattle. They are finding food freely.
