G'day fellas, I'm in the middle of doing my stage 1 upgrade, pipes on,air cleaner on, now for the tuner, (2012 1200c) inside the batt cover it says to turn ignition to on before batt removal if bikes got security etc etc. That kind of goes against my logic or lack of, ie: having the power on while doing this, I'm guessing it's got some thing to do with all the new fangled elecs...any clues would be much appreciated cheers  Frosty...

They way I do it is to turn the ignition on, wait for all the whirring and stuff to stop and then turn it off again.  The trick is to whip the main fuse out before the alarm arms.  You have got a few seconds but that is plenty of time if you're ready.

It goes against my logic to take the fue out while everything is powered up.

Thanks for the info blokes, so it's down to the alarm, no worries then, I pictured it being a more drastic data loss or 'ish...regards Frosty.

    hi.....
i fully agree......During the initial start-up of the engine, the battery must work to start the car motor, and continues to work for the ignition system to crank. Under normal circumstances, the initial electricity from the charging system of the vehicle is enough to keep the car running. However, when the car is using too much electricity because of lights and radio or television, the battery is then discharged.
