What other rear hub will fit Deluxe

I'm planning to fit a 180 tyre to my '07 Deluxe so I'm looking for a spare hub to lace to a wider 16 x 5 rim off a '09 or latter RK Classic if it's possable, rather than using the one I already have on the bike.

There are a few rear hubs on ebay that say what year bikes they're off, but they don't say what model.

Anyone know what other hubs I can use?

Thanks mate. Was looking @ getting the hub first then just the rim. A whole wheel would be a waste unless it will fit . Anyone know if the RK hub would work.

I've dug a bit deeper & found that the hub for '00 - '02 Tourer & '00 - '05 Dyna have the same part # (pn 40976-00) & axle size as the '00 - '07 laced wheel Soft tails. As far as the '09 RK hub goes, I will have to do some more research.

Hi chriso, I have a spare hub & a late model RK classic wheel (16’ x 5” smoothy) sitting on the shelf.
Took them to a couple of spoke wheel guys, but with the RK hub being much wider, they both said the spokes are splayed outwards further than on the Deluxe hub, which would cause the spokes to bend too much if fitted to the Deluxe hub.
Looked at machining the RK hub on the drive side to the same width as the Deluxe hub, then off-setting the hub, but I think it might look crappy.
One of the Dyna models has a smooth laced 17” x 4.5” wheel, so that could be another option, but not sure if there is a wide white-wall tyre available for that diameter wheel.
Project is now on the to-do list for now, while I concentrate on my 120” build, among other things.

As for spokes, I was going to stick with the stock items. - Rob
