Im looking around for an automotive oil filter to fir the specs required for a shovel engine (ie 30 microns, 8-11 psi bypass, 3/4 - 16 thread). Now where I live its a pain to get stuff that isnt the generic - like Bosch. So my question is, is anyone using Ryco oil filters such as the z158 or the like?
What other brands are you using that is easily available through the various auto stores?
Cheers,
Hi Kiwi - I know what you mean about the risk, thats why I am asking around. I have read lots on other forums with people finding 30micron filters, with 8-12psi bypass that are mean for the older cars. So thats what im trying to find out with Ryco. I actually send Ryco an email with my specs to see what they got. Worst case scenario ill order the appropriate Bosch/Wix type filter off egay.
Thanks for you reply you, appreciate it.

Thanks Don.
Just to finish off this thread, I ended up buying the K&N KN170 oil filter which I can get locally. But DAMN are they expensive! Still I want engine protection of course
