Stock Grips - Can i put bar ends on?

Ive got stock grips on my 48... But i want to put bar end mirrors on them or bar end caps on it. THe only thing is the stock grips cover the hole over the end with rubber....

I was wondering if i need to change my grips just to be able to put bar ends on it? That seems a bit silly.

I was thinking bout cutting the rubber off but that also sound silly... I dunno...

    Anyone got tips?

I just fitted new grips altogether , not too hard to replace although the throttle cable was a bitch , you could try cutting em off but i dont think they will look any good , get new ones the originals are pretty ordinary compared to the after market ones
    Good luck

I just did mine. Made some bar ends and cut the rubber off the end of the grips. You'll also need to file the throttle 'sleeve' plastic so as it's not covering the inside diameter of the bars (you'll see what I mean when you cut the rubber end out.

Great job on the bar ends. I notice you made some front axle and pivot covers too. Methinks youre a fiiter/machinist. I wanted some axle covers for my muscle when i had it but H-D don't make them as you know. I don't have access to a lathe anymore either so i couldn't make any. No need to worry now as i have Tigger. Rock on hquick.
