Guys,
I have just had an old school custom sisy bar made for my wide glide. However, I need to get some old powdercoat off it, and get it re-powdercoated. Anyone have any recomendations for places that might do it in Cambeltown, Sydney.
Just another thing.
I had some original powder coated forward controls
That were chipped and scratched, I got some paint stripper from
Bunnings and got them back to bare metal.
Youll save some money.
Paint stripper was about $24. Still have shitloads of the stuff.
All you need is a brush and scrapper.
It wouldnt take more than 20 minutes to do.
See how you go.
Don't know how they do it these days, but the preparation before painting was very important, if, I repeat if you want it to last steel should be phosphated before been Powercoated............
Used to work at Silcraft, had a lot of gear there done this way, before Ford & GMH started buying all their supplies from China etc, then assembled the parts here.............
Ah, how I love Free Trade .......................Not
Oh a pic as well...
