Today i hooked one lead of my charger up to each testicle as a dare from a mate. I have muscle pain in my stomach area now - (3 hours later) and may need hospitalization. Please don't anybody else do this. I have burns on my satchel now where the clips went.

I got a charger (and the installed wiring) when I bought my dyna and I used it all the time, the battery was still going strong when I traded the bike in after nearly 5 years.
They didn't give me another charger when I got the Street Glide but it's got the plug there to use my existing charger, however unlike the dyna where the plug sits just under the edge of the seat I have to remove the side cover to get to the one on the Street Glide so I don't put it on every night. I will use it if I'm going to be not riding for a week or more though (so far that hasn't happened, 6500kms in just over a month, this bike is so easy to do distances on).

I am not a daily rider. Can go a few weeks without a ride.
My roster is usually 5 to 7 days at work followed by 2 off.
I plug my trickle charger in on 1st day off and remove 24hrs later.......So far no problem. Just a HD branded trickle charger I had thrown in when i bought my Slim 18 months ago.

I leave mine on 365. Always heard it won't harm/is good for the battery. And it's a guaranteed start in cold weather -- started no issues in minus 4 during the week.
Nearly 5-6 months of single digits or below where I live and I commute most days as parking prices are a rip-off. Good for the mood too.

Got caught out with mine, light was green but bike barely turned over. Attaching a Seca controller showed the batt at 12.9 volts but a charged state of 36%.
Maybe my HD Tender has a fault but I've learnt not to connect it when I get home or even after a few days, cause when I do the light is always green indicating it thinks the battery is charged so it doesn't add juice.
If the bikes been sitting a while, (yes I need to get a life) I have to turn ignition on for ten seconds or so to discharge the batt a bit and then on connection the charger light shows bright yellow and sometimes takes over night to go green again which means the batt must have been low, but not enough to trigger charging.
Anyone else experienced this?
Maybe mine's farked.

My FXST bought new in Feb 08 still has the original battery which works.
I purchased a trickle charger 2 years after buying the bike and swap it from bike to bike (5 of em) every few days.
Can't really believe the original battery still works and think at times I oughta do a pre-emptive battery change in case I get caught out.
Curiosity has got the better of me though and just interested to see how long the thing lasts.
Never had a bike or car battery last that long.

All the time. I have Projecta 1600ma smart battery tenders on the bikes in my grudge.

I been useing a c-tech since about 2007 . On my last three bikes, no prob HD AGM have been lasting 5 to 7 years. But if battery 5 years old now i just put a new one in. As i never have regulators go south with a fully charged battery in good working order.

I never use to but always rode them often. Not so much now so use a Ctek xs0.8 unit. Works a treat.
Get them on special from Repco from time to time. or https://12volttechnology.com.au/14_ctek. $65 is a good price.

That's the one I use ctek but I buy the extra adapter with led light indercators which let you know if the
battery is dropping voltage just for extra safety if I haven't swapped it
From one bike to to other for few weeks as only have the one charger
