I think it depends on the year. Some of the older ones i believe had sportster on the tank, but the 2012 model doesn't.

A bike is a bike is a bike...get the one you want, save your pennies, buy a second hand one, find one that your happy with.  If you don't want a sportster, don't buy one, because in 3 months you'll be annoyed, have blown bunch of coin that you'll never get back, and be further away from your Dyna.  If you want a sportster, buy one, but don't try and hide it, people will still know, no matter what you do.  There are strong views about all bikes, Jappas, Sporties, Rockers, Glides, etc, but who cares, if you like your bike it doesn't matter, unless your a shallow wannabe, in which case, listen to everyone else and buy a bike that is totally innapropriate, that you can't ride, but looks the goods outside the local neighbourhood coffee shop, until you have to push it home.

IMO They're one of the better Harley's on the market, affordable, look brilliant, lightweight and you can build them to keep pace with the majority of dyna's on the road!! If money is an issue why bother buying a new one; they depreciate quicker than it will take you to remove that 883 badge on the air cleaner!! Buy a second hand one that someone has already poured a shit load into and ride it!

If your embarassed to have the sporty tag on your bike then dont waste your money.

bought my 08 custom sporty 4 years ago, still have it, no way ashamed of it being labeled a sporty, you can throw these fuckers around punish them and they they keep coming back for more.
