    Hey Folks,

Sorry if there's a previous thread on this - couldn't find one.

But has anyone installed an aux power port on their Dyna?

If so - where'd you whack it?

Headin away for a long trip at the end of the year, and thinking it might be a good idea.

Kuryakyn have a handlebar mount one but its a bit pricey at around US80 dollars landed. (US evilbay)

Can get them for 1 or 1.25" bars.

Bit in your face but at least easy access for the navman.

Be interested in what you find as I need one as well.

    Regards

Went to Super Cheap Autos and bought a double cig lighter socket.

Wired it to the same type of plug that the battery charger plugs into, also available at Super Cheap.

change the fuse from 3 to 15 amp on the charging lead and there's ya supply.

Only had a 10 " tail on the sockets so that I can stick them up under the left side cover with velcro when required.

When not required, unplug, pull off the velcro and stash.

Works a treat for on the go charging, etc, etc.

    Rider,

Now that might suit me, I have a trickle charger permanently wired in. I could just make a lead that goes from the trickle charger connection socket to either a merit style or even a usb female as I have a number of leads that are USB to iphone/Navman etc. Saves having another set of wires hanging of the battery box.

The Batter charger connector actually has a fuse built into the line already, I will just have to check size.

Off to jaycar tomorrow I think.

yeh I'm looking at doing something like that too.
I want to have power running to my phone for music and navigation.

I know Jaycar do some waterproof USB sockets, but they're expensive and quite large, I just haven't really thought of a good place to mount one yet. Possibly if I make up a bracket that runs down behind where the coil bolts on?

if you got/get a c-tek charger/trickle charger use this, and click it off when finished

I put one of these on my wideglide, as the key is on the tank there's a sticker over the hole in the frame under the seat above the battery box. Fitted perfectly, flip up cover. Got the male version of the connector on my trickle charger and made up a lead to a socket that will reach into the bag I tie on the seat for big trips etc. Also got a little tool box mouted next to the rear right shocker that i can put my phone in to keep it on charge.

I went to jaycar bought a lighter socket, in line fuse holder and a plug which is the same fitting the battery tender uses, also bought some heat shrink etc. wired the earth and everything up and ran the lighter socket just out the front end of the fuel tank.

    Deadwood,

    I finally did similar.
I bought same type of gear from Jaycar and dual usb outlet.
Wired the cig lighter to some twin cable through an inline fuse to the same socket the battery tender (Projecta) uses.
The Twin USB outlet fits into cig lighter.

The cable simply plugs into the permantly wired battery tender lead when required and sits either under seat or in saddle bags.
I then run a USB to whatever device I am running (GPS-Phone etc)

When not in use the Cig holder and cable sit either in my saddle bags or in my tool roll. I can use most any USB device this way and cables are easy to find.

I have one fitted on the frame near the steering lock, it's a 12v cig outlet and also has a USB port.

When I made my new bars I also internally wired a USB iPhone lead and taped an 8mm thread on my bars for my iphone mount.

Handy to be able to charge it on long and overnight runs as use it a bit listening to tunes through a sena Bluetooth headset
